After a ordering my size 8 then returning them for an 8 1/2 I almost gave up. However the shoe was just right for a dress that I have I tried a 9. I would have like it in the mushroom colour,with the mushroom colour you really see the details of the shoes, and its a nice colour, but they only had black at the time. It fits fine, it's pretty comfortable. For me the heel height is fine, if you are not used to wearing high heels, the heel is very sturdy, and with the shoe coming up high on the ankle this will give you added support. I'm not blessed with skinny ankles or calves but I don't have cankles; so there is plenty of room for leggings with this shoe.
